Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini is becoming a benefit corporation
FGB is evolving. Over the years, we have matured from a purely non-profit research foundation in Italy to an institution with a burgeoning reputation on the European and international stage. To reflect these changes and to streamline our governance, we have decided to set up a benefit corporation responsible for developing our commercial activities.
Whereas traditional corporations’ main objective is to maximise profit, we believe that growth cannot be separated from our values. This is why our new statutes include a strong commitment to higher standards of purpose, accountability, and transparency.
Purpose, by creating public benefit and sustainable value in addition to generating profit; accountability, by considering our impact on society and the environment in order to create long-term sustainable value for all; transparency, by publishing regular reports on our progress towards achieving social and environmental impact.
We see this as essential for our mission to create real social impact and positive socio-economic progress across nations and cities.
