CASE STUDIES ON THE FUTURE OF SKILLS
FGB will conduct a study to identify and analyse how technology, innovation and other drivers are changing or creating skill needs and how the education and training systems are responding to this evolution. To this end, FGB will conduct desk and field research and will collaborate with key stakeholders in order to provide conclusions and analysis of policy implications caused by occurring changes in the selected sectors in three countries, namely (i) agro-business in Morocco, (ii) agro-tech in Israel, and (iii) car manufacturing in Turkey.
The study will conduct a state-of-art analysis in these sectors in regards to the main changes shaping the sector and potential impacts on skill needs. It will also gather empirical evidence for understanding how change drivers are impacting the job tasks and occupational profiles in these sectors and how the education and training providers should respond to these changes. As a result, the study will explore the effects of ongoing changes on skill needs in the selected sectors. The study will specifically target innovative companies in each selected sector to gather unique evidence on occurring changes in the sector, and to understand how these changes are affecting future skill needs and what current initiatives are already being put in place to address new skills needs. A comparative analysis of all gathered information will be also carried out.
