CITB is undertaking a three-stage programme of work to ensure that all regions have the labour pool they need for a healthy and future-proofed construction industry.

CITB has already carried out the first stage, whose aim was to identify shortages in the nine of the largest LEP (Local Enterprise Partnership) areas.

The third stage will be to devise and implement a construction skills strategy that will address these shortages in each area. This project seeks to the address second phase.

CITB needs to identify the potential size and sources of labour supply in each area, as well as the initiatives and organisations that can help people into construction training and work.
