Project

SEN Network – Network of socio-economic experts on anti-discrimination on the grounds of race and ethnic origin, religion or belief, age, disability and sexual orientation

The purpose of the network was to endow the European Commission with independent expertise and advice, providing the Institution with an analysis of national situations and policy developments with regard to discrimination on specific grounds (race and ethnic origin, religion or belief, age, disability and sexual orientation), by producing biannual reports for each of the EU Member States covering selected policy themes and issues. Fondazione Brodolini, as correspondent for Italy, produced eight reports in four years, focusing in 2009 on the identification of groups discriminated against in the national context as well as on the benefits and challenges of a diverse society; in 2010, on the situation of LGBT in Italy as well as on employment, ethnicity and migrants in Italy; in 2011, on active ageing in Italy as well as on the economic case for anti-discrimination; in 2012, on the links between public authorities at the different levels of governance as well as on discrimination on the ground of religion or belief.
