This service carries out a unitary evaluation of results and impacts of regional programmes and interventions supporting research and innovation co-financed through EU, national or regional funds and carried out by Friuli Venezia Giulia Region since 2000. The overall objective of the evaluation is to provide regional authorities with evidence-based knowledge in order to steer programming decisions for the next programming period.

The service entails the implementation of both desk (national and regional statistics and regional administrative data) and field analysis (surveys through CATI and CAWI techniques as well as focus groups). The study is based on the analysis of the following issues: i) regional policies for research and innovation; ii) Friuli Venezia Giulia’s position in the national and international context in the field of research and innovation; iii) analysis of the impacts of research and innovation interventions implemented in the last 13 years (through counterfactual techniques); iv) short to medium term development scenarios; v) mapping of the offer of research and innovation services; vi) interaction among the different actors of regional research and innovation.

The results of the study will disseminated through a number of seminars and the publication of an evaluation report and a synthesis report.
