The objective of the Sierra Leone YEEP, part of the AfDB funded Youth Entrepreneurship and Employment Project, is to strengthen entrepreneurship and create employment for the youth by supporting Sierra Leone in creating integrated systems linking the education/vocational institutions with the market (productive sectors).

The project is expected to contribute to the building of a resilient economy in the country, by developing capacity of the youth supporting institutions and creating efficient working models for other AfDB interventions in the country.

The project is structured on three main components:

·        Skills development for employment: building capacity to train youth in three priority skills needed by private operators in growing economic sectors to link private sector to employment:

·        Career guidance and job readiness: developing training/operational manuals, designing and delivery of Training of Trainers and providing training and counseling services to youth

·        Graduate entrepreneurship programme: developing entrepreneurial attitude of youth, with emphasis on TVET and university graduates by building capacities of the selected Business Support Centre (BSC) with support from UNDP.
