GENDMAP analyses the gender difference in the access to managerial and entrepreneurial positions in countries that are characterized by different institutional and socio-economical environments and by a different welfare structure. Empirical evidence shows how women are fewer in those positions in which a strong decision making skill is needed. GENDMAP investigated the causes for their smaller presence in the countries involved, analysed the elements that prevent or make it hard for them to be employed, and identified the forms of discrimination that can be found at the different levels of personal career and company life.
