Support to child protection in Morocco

Based on the priorities of the Action Plan signed by the European Union and the Kingdom of Morocco, the project aims at strengthening child protection in the country, in line with requirements of the acquis communautaire and good practices identified at European level.

The general objective of the project is to support the implementation of Public Policy on Child Protection in Morocco (PPIPEM) adopted in 2016, through:

• Development of a coordinated and professional system to identify, prevent, support and provide guidance to minors at risk
• Resources mobilization and capacity building necessary to support effective implementation of the National Plan 2016 - 2020

In particular, project activities are designed on the following specific objectives:

• Support to the strategic and operative management of the PPIPEM implementation by Moroccan authorities at national and territorial level
• Support to increase coordination and capacity of the existing institutions devoted to prevention, shelter, guidance and re-inclusion of minors
• Support to the establishment of territorial institutions dedicated to child protection in at least three pilot provinces identified by Moroccan authorities, for later extension of the system to national level
