Survey on employment outcomes of the IeFP and IFTS training pathways
Partners: Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini
The survey aims at monitoring and analysing the employment outcomes of former students of the Vocational Education and Training (IeFP) and Higher Technical Education and Training (IFTS) pathways in Italy, providing a detailed outline of career paths following participation in the training experience. The aim is to support training policies by understanding the effectiveness of training pathways and their alignment with labour market needs.
The project comprises two editions (VI and VII) of the survey, which will be implemented in 2025 and 2026, respectively.
The data collection will be carried out by means of interviews. These will be conducted in CATI (Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing) technique and involve a sample of about 13,000 former trainees who completed IeFP and IFTS courses. Information will be gathered to assess their work situation, the skills they have acquired and any misalignment with market demands.
In-depth interviews will also involve employers, directors of Vocational Training Centres and trainers, in order to reflect on the levels of preparation of former students and the skills most in demand by companies.
The analysis of the data will make it possible to identify any gaps in training courses, thus improving the effectiveness of training provision and contributing to a better match between labour supply and demand.
Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini (FGB) will be involved in all phases of the project, from the data collection to the drafting of the final reports, ensuring the methodological quality of the surveys and the implementation of innovative tools for the dissemination of their results.
