EU Voices. Amplifying the voices of EU citizens in the UK
Partners: The3million Ltd
The EU Voices project aims to support EU citizens living in the UK and the organisations that work to protect their rights, as well as to help EU communities connect, build confidence and encourage their inclusion in civic and democratic life.
The project is funded by the European Union through the Foreign Policy Instrument (FPI) and reflects a shared commitment to protecting citizens' rights, supporting civil society, and strengthening people-to-people connections between the EU and the UK.
In particular, EU Voices works with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), grassroots and community groups, and EU citizens across the UK to:
- strengthen community organisations through training, mentoring, and small grants available for grassroots organisations across the UK, delivered through the project's subgranting scheme;
- encourage civic participation, including dialogue with local communities and democratic engagement;
- build stronger networks between EU citizens, British communities, and decision-makers;
- support long-term sustainability, enabling organisations to continue their work beyond the project.
By bringing people together and sharing skills, EU Voices will help EU citizens feel more informed, confident, and connected to their communities, amplifying their voice at local, national, and EU level.
The project includes a range of activities, including the organisation of an EU learning exchange visit to Brussels; open events and resources for the wider civil society sector; UK‑wide community outreach and engagement initiatives; workshops and World Cafes on local issues; and policy webinars on EU citizens' rights.
Furthermore, the project will deliver a two‑year capacity‑building programme focused on fundraising support, communications development, community organising training, and anti‑oppression practices. It will also provide five €20,000 grants for small community‑rooted organisations.
Coordinated communication activities will be implemented throughout the project to strengthen the voice of communities and maximise collective impact. Furthermore, advocacy reports based on community insights will be developed.
As lead partner, Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini will coordinate the overall implementation of the project, ensuring its technical and financial robustness – in particular, by accompanying civil society organisations in the sub-granting process, as well as by supporting institutional communication and continuous technical and financial monitoring, thereby guaranteeing both accountability and long-term impact.
