This project focuses on a number of key issues relevant to the EU priorities in the field of youth employment and active labour market policies. Starting from the need, emphasised by European institutions in numerous communications, to adopt reforms of the labour market able to address the high rate of youth unemployment, the segmentation of the youth labour market and to establish an integrated system of unemployment benefits, the partners will try to identify the most effective policies to promote employment of young people in the EU.
The project aims at carrying out a comparative study on three different levels:
- Analyse and compare national and EU policies concerning youth employment;
- Identify the best strategies to support the integration of young people into the labour market, taking into account measures such as self-employment and entrepreneurship;
- Understand the impact of the economic crisis on young people and in different local social contexts of the EU.
