Statistical survey on intangible and human capital assets (year 2012)
The survey investigates the activities carried out by Italian enterprises to improve their ‘intangible’ assets and to enhance their competitive skills. Such activities are those normally related to innovation processes: dual education, software acquisition, investments in corporate reputation, image and trademarks, research and development, design activities of new products, processes and services, business organisation, improvement of business management and production processes, other intangible assets development activities.
For the first time expenditure levels on intangible assets and future perspectives of the benefits obtained through such investments are investigated at the same time. The survey is unparalleled in OECD countries.
Moreover, the survey develops new analysis scenarios of dual education, investigating the role played by both investments in training and investments in other intangible assets.
The study is part of the National Statistical Programme 2011-2013 (ISF-00059), which collects all statistical surveys deemed necessary for Italy.
