The project Digital and green skills towards the future of the mobility ecosystem (TRIREME) focuses on the mobility-transport-automotive ecosystem, in order to facilitate its transition towards a greener and more digital future by developing a comprehensive and sustainable skills and training strategy that addresses the current and future needs of the workforce.

The project is funded by the Erasmus+ programme (partnerships for innovation - alliances) with the overall aim to support the transition of Europe towards a more sustainable and technologically advanced economy. It acknowledges the significance of the automotive-mobility industry in Europe and addresses the dual transformation affecting European society and its economy.

TRIREME emphasises the need for collaboration among various stakeholders within the ecosystem, including the automotive value chain, IT sector, energy carriers, and services related to logistics and connected vehicles.

Through its consortium, TRIREME intends to connect technological and conceptual components, thereby enhancing skills collaboration within the mobility ecosystem.

The specific objectives of the project are:

  • to expand the range of training opportunities by leveraging sector-specific intelligence;
  • to design and implement a skills strategy for the sector;
  • to identify new occupational roles and develop corresponding training programmes;
  • to create and deliver educational initiatives across various levels using effective methods;
  • to evaluate and address the gap between industry needs and available training;
  • to develop curricula and training programmes that respond to the sector's advancements.

The contribution of Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini will be spread across several working packages.

First of all, FGB will participate in the continuous skills intelligence gathering by conducting desk research on the automotive-mobility sector and supporting the counduction of surveys, interviews, workshops, and webinars. These will serve as inputs into the sectoral skills strategy. Secondly, FGB will contribute to analysing the current education and training offerings. Lastly, FGB will support the communication and dissemination of the project’s results and key policy messages.

The contact person for the project at FGB is Liga Baltina, Head of Labour market and skills research unit (baltina@fondazionebrodolini.eu).
