Cultures of Italian Socialism series
Last week in Milan the first issue of Quaderni dellla Fondazione Brodolini under the series Cultures of Italian Socialism directed by Enzo Bartocci has been officially presented in Milan at Circolo di Via De Amicis. The issue edited by David Bidussa and Andrea Panaccione is entitled Economical and political cultures of Italian Socialism from thirties to sixties.
President of Fondazione Aldo Aniasi Mario Artali has opened the meeting putting emphasis on the whole project and on the commitment undertook by Fondazione Aniasi, together with Fondazione Brodolini, to disseminating the outcomes.
Giuseppe Berta (Bocconi University), Edoardo Borruso (Bocconi University) and Jacopo Perazzoli (Fondazione Aniasi) took part to the meeting as speakers. They talked about some issues related to the Quaderno such as: liberal socialism according to Carlo Rosselli and the influence of labourism; from planned economy to Keynes' theories; some journals (“Comunità”, “Ragionamenti”) and people who deeply influenced the culture of Socialism (Dagnino, Olivetti, Bertolino, Momigliano); the effects of the Cold War; the relations with European parties of Democratic Socialism and the issue of revisionism.
After an interesting debate, Enzo Bartocci, the President of Fondazione Brodolini, talked again of the research project, providing information on the contents of the other working groups and three other Quaderni that are going to be published soon under the same series.
