Discussing the future of continuing skills development in Thessaloniki
On 1 October 2025, Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini took part in the First Cedefop symposium on Continuing Skills Development: Setting a Vision and Action Pathways, organised by the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop).
The event, which was held in Thessaloniki (Greece), brought together stakeholders from across Europe to discuss the future of continuing vocational education and training (CVET), and to shape a shared vision for skills development up to 2040.
As part of its ongoing support to Cedefop's Foresight Study on Continuing Vocational Education and Training (CVET) under the Skills Intelligence Service contract, FGB supported the symposium's work in the breakout sessions.
Representing FGB's research team, Liga Baltina, Head of the Labour Market & Skills Research Unit, Terence Hogarth, Professor at the Institute for Employment Research, University of Warwick, and member of FGB's scientific committee, and Effie Amanatidou, foresight expert and member of FGB's research team for the study, who contributed to the discussions aimed at identifying strategic directions and practical pathways for advancing inclusive and future-ready skills ecosystems in Europe.
