Economia&Lavoro call for papers on Ezio Tarantelli's legacy

Submissions are open until 31 October 2025 for the new Call for Papers launched by Economia&Lavoro, Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini's four-monthly journal of economic policy, sociology and industrial relations, published by Carocci editore. Selected contributions will be included in a special issue of the journal, focusing on a critical reassessment of the relevance, innovative features, and intellectual legacy of economist Ezio Tarantelli (1941-1985), forty years after his death.

A leading labour economist and institutional reformer, Tarantelli was one of the most original figures in Italy’s economic and policy debates during the 1970s and early 1980s. His work combined theoretical analysis, international comparative research, and practical policy engagement, with a focus on income policy, industrial relations, and macroeconomic coordination. He was a key advocate of social dialogue as a foundation for both economic efficiency and social cohesion.

The journal welcomes contributions in either Italian or English that explore the enduring significance of Tarantelli's ideas in the context of today’s challenges in labour markets, economic policy, and democratic governance. The call is open to scholars in Macroeconomics, Labour Economics, Industrial Relations, Political Science, Sociology, Labour Law, and Economic History.

All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review and will be featured in the special issue titled Reassessing Ezio Tarantelli’s Legacy: Relevance, Innovations, and Limits 40 Years on, scheduled for publication in the first semester of 2026.

Papers must comply with the journal's Editorial Office Guidelines and Style Guidelines, and be submitted by October 31, 2025 to: economialavoro@fondazionebrodolini.it.
