With the European Commission to promote rural development
As part of the communication service in support of the Veneto Rural Development Programme (RDP) 2014-2022, Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini, together with PR Consulting, supported the Veneto Region in organising visits and meetings that took place in Veneto from June 17-19, 2024.
These were a synthesis of the rural development experiences carried out in the region, thanks to the investment of European resources, entrepreneurial spirit and love for the territory, combined with an effective communication strategy.
As explained by Raffaele Paciello, coordinator of the Public Policy and Communication Advisory Area of Fondazione Brodolini, "throughout the three days, the Managing Authority of the Veneto Rural Development Program, the European Commission's Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG Agri), representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry (MASAF), the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), and institutional and social economic actors from the Veneto region worked to examine the financial and procedural progress of the programme, touching on the concrete results of funding from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development".
The visit took place in the eastern part of the province of Verona, which includes the hills of the Soave area, the intermediate hilly strip on the border with the province of Vicenza, and Lessinia. Here, the delegation visited four farms that received funding through the Veneto Rural Development Program 2014-2022, and traveled along a tourist itinerary created thanks to the same funds.
The delegation was accompanied by the staff of FGB and PR Consulting, and was able to meet and talk directly with farm owners, whose activities are dedicated to the enhancement of local productions, water conservation, farm diversification and land development.
Delegates walked along the section of the itinerary located in Illasi, in San Felice. The name of the itinerary is "La vecia via della lana" (the old wool path), an ancient path on the ridge of the Lessinian mountains that has been recovered for connecting different territories and enhancing sustainable tourism. The project was implemented by the Local Action Group (LAG) of Baldo Lessinia, within the framework of LEADER local development interventions.
Finally, a meeting of the Monitoring Committee of the Veneto Rural Development Programme 2014-2022 was held in Illasi, Verona, on Wednesday 19 June 2024.
