European Week of Regions and Cities (OPEN DAYS)

Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini will participate to the European Week of Regions and Cities (OPEN DAYS) the annual event during which cities and regions showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance. In particular Costanza Pagnini will take place to the Closing the circle:  how do monitoring and evaluation systems support result-orientation in 2014-2020? Workshop organized by the European Commission to present the work carried on by FGB in monitoring and evaluation of the ESF.

The workshop will focus on how ESF monitoring and evaluation activities contribute to ESF policy design and implementation. This is particular relevant this year as ESF is celebrating its 60th anniversary. During the discussion, the speakers will highlight how monitoring and evaluation systems contribute to better communicate the policies supported towards a more relevant, efficient and effective ESF support with a view to creating jobs and combatting social exclusion. This debate  will be enriched  with the presentation of regional examples on how monitoring and evaluation systems become effective instruments for systematising regional findings, and contribute to transparency, accountability and better policy making.
