Skills for green jobs

Country reports on skills for green jobs in Denmark, France, Spain, the UK, Germany and Estonia

FGB will be leading the work preparing country reports on skills for green jobs in Denmark, France, Spain, the UK, Germany and Estonia. The previous reports on the project in 2009/10, that FGB will be updating, analysed the policy context and highlighted the sectors where restructuring was anticipated, and thusly where training and active labour market policies were most needed.

The work is particularly germane due to the new skills and qualifications required by the growing importance of sustainable development and move towards a low-carbon economy. Not only does this show the increasing importance of green jobs, but it also implies a degree of structural change in existing jobs.

The task is part of our framework contract services we provide to Cedefop on data analysis and intelligence on skills and labour markets, primarily for the Skills Panorama.  The Consortium, led by Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini, also includes Cambridge Econometrics, RAND Europe and the University of Warwick’s Institute for Employment Research.
