Vocational training and skills anticipation in Iceland and Norway

In 2023, Fondazione Brodolini supported the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop) by updating 27 country reports on skills anticipation and producing two new reports for Iceland and Norway, which are now all available on Cedefop's website.

The updated reports provide an overview of the skills anticipation system within each country, including descriptions of how these systems are regulated and practically implemented; the role of various stakeholders in the skills anticipation process is also detailed, highlighting their responsibilities and contributions.

These updates incorporate new developments in skills anticipation such as advancements in data collection methods, changes among stakeholder organisations, amendments to responsibilities, and innovations in how skills intelligence is utilised in policymaking.

Moreover, the inclusion of the new reports for Iceland and Norway extends our coverage, and provides fresh insights into the evolving landscape of skills anticipation in these countries.

All of this was made possible thanks to the dedicated efforts of FGB's extensive network of labour market and skills experts.

A summary on skills anticipation trends and challenges in EU Member States can be found in the policy brief Next generation skills intelligence for more learning and better matching published by Cedefop.
