Training Funds in the EU

Training Funds are institutions present in several Member States (Fondi Paritetici Interprofessionali in Italy, Kompetencefonden in Denmark, Onderwijs en Ontwikkeling in the Netherlands, etc.) with heterogeneous characteristics but basically sharing the objective of enhancing vocational training in enterprises and mutualising the related costs across enterprises, collecting the funds mainly through the levies paid by employers.

The study Training funds in the EU aims at providing an overview of the currently existing training funds across EU, conducting in-depth analysis in the countries where they are in place to understand strengths and challenges of their implementation and the potential actions/policy interventions that need to be taken to improve their operation and performance.

Afterwards, building on the outcomes of this analysis and based on the lessons learned in terms of the necessary and favourable conditions for successful development and implementation of training funds, the study intends to investigate how to establish effectively new training funds, or significantly modernise/re-think the existing ones.

Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini Srl SB will be in charge of the in-depth analysis of the Italian training funds (Fondi Paritetici Inteprofessionali per la formazione continua), through desk research and interviews. Furthermore, FGB Srl SB will contribute to the Strengths Weaknesses Opportunities Threats (SWOT) analysis of the training funds and to the exploration of their potential future role in the EU.
