SEFIT. Social ecosystems for fair and inclusive transitions
Partners: City of Turin,
Associated partners: Turin Chamber of Commerce
The main goal of the project Social Ecosystems for Fair and Inclusive Transitions (SEFIT) is to develop new approaches aimed at enhancing collaboration among local authorities, private sector, and local stakeholders in order to effectively address the challenges of the green and digital transition.
The project is financed through the EU Programme for employment and social innovation (EaSI) of the DG Employment, social affairs and inclusion of the European Commission.
Through a series of activities in the cities of Turin and Cork planned for the next two years, the project will support social innovation capable of having an impact on individuals facing socio-economic disadvantages, while ensuring a fair and inclusive transition.
These interventions will serve as guidelines for other policymakers seeking to address environmental and social challenges through social innovation, with the aim of strengthening the social innovation ecosystem not only in Ireland and Italy, but also at a European level.
Local initiatives and cross-sector partnerships will be amongst the key elements of the project. Partnerships, in particular, will be useful to develop and test the social innovation challenge to promote social economy, policy-making and public-private partnerships with local municipalities to support the scalability of social innovations.
The main outcomes of SEFIT will include:
- the development of sustainability pathways and transformation tools for social economy actors;
- the customization of solutions for specific contexts based on general models;
- the promotion of the implementation of Principle n. 20 of the European pillar of social rights (EPSR) for essential services;
- the creation of a fund supporting the portfolio of future projects between Torino and Cork, encouraging a synergy between social innovation and the twin transition.
As lead partner of the consortium, FGB will be involved in activities such as mapping and identifying the challenges aimed at creating the "Social Innovation Challenge" call; providing training and capacity building for selected beneficiaries; drafting and publishing two position papers for policymakers involved in the implementation of policies related to the green and digital transition.
