ANVUR recognises the scientific excellence of Economia & Lavoro
Economia & Lavoro, Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini's four-monthly journal of economic policy, sociology and industrial relations, published by Carocci editore, has been awarded the Class A classification from the Italian National Agency for the Evaluation of Universities and Research Institutes (ANVUR). This recognition applies to the academic sector 14/D1 – Economic Sociology, Sociology of Work, Urban and Environmental Sociology within the Italian university national recruitment system.
"The Class A status granted by ANVUR represents a significant recognition of scientific quality for an academic journal" commented Annamaria Simonazzi, editor-in-chief of Economia & Lavoro and President of Fondazione Brodolini. "Such status is granted to journals that meet strict criteria concerning the quality of their content; the peer review process; the prestige of the Scientific Committee; and the relevance of the published material to the academic community and the scientific debate within a specific disciplinary field".
"The Class A status is therefore relevant for the evaluation of research quality in Italian universities (VQR), for national academic qualifications (ASN), and for academic recruitment processes, thus contributing substantially to the scientific reputation of authors, research institutions, and universities" she added.
Founded in 1967 by Giacomo Brodolini with the aim of promoting debate among political, social, cultural and economic stakeholders fostering democratic progress and reform, Economia & Lavoro became the journal of Fondazione Brodolini in 1971. Since then, it has been focusing on social and labour market transformations, while carrying on the action and thought of its founder.
The journal is now fully available in open access, starting from the second issue of 2024.
