With ASviS, towards an ecosystem for a sustainable future
Through the Ecosistema Futuro project, Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini has joined the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS), a network of more than 300 organisations and associations dedicated to advancing the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in Italy.
Led by ASviS, the project brings together public and private institutions, including Fondazione Brodolini, to shape public policies and gather economic and social innovations aimed at building a more sustainable future for Italy, prioritising well-being and quality of life for all.
"Ecosistema Futuro was created as a platform to foster collaboration and help build a true ecosystem where long-term thinking is placed at the heart of Italy’s cultural, political, economic, and social dialogue," explains Maria Laura Fornaci, who is managing the project on behalf of Fondazione Brodolini. "In the face of ongoing climate, technological, demographic, political, and cultural changes, the project works to identify risks and opportunities, and to outline pathways and scenarios that support sustainable development".
Over the medium term, Ecosistema Futuro aims to encourage government and public institutions to adopt tools enhancing the quality of policymaking and strengthening their capacity for strategic foresight and long-term planning. The project also seeks to involve citizens in a collective dialogue around future challenges, starting from schools and education.
"Putting future thinking at the center of Italy's public and cultural debate is essential to strengthening our country’s ability to invest in long-term prosperity and well-being," Fornaci added. "As a project partner, Fondazione Brodolini will contribute by developing foresight exercises on future scenarios" she concluded.
