Advancing diversity and inclusion in the EU space and defence sectors
As a member of the EU Space and Defence Industry Diversity and Inclusion (DIVERIS) network, Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini will participate in the DIVERIS Annual Meeting 2026, organised by the European Commission (DG DEFIS) in the framework of the 2026 EU Diversity Month. The event will take place in Brussels on 7 May 2026, from 10:00 to 17:00.
The DIVERIS network aims to break down barriers, promote equal opportunities, and champion inclusive practices in the space and defence sectors – areas still facing significant diversity gaps, where factors such as gender, age, employment status and social background can limit access and participation. To address these challenges, the network brings together stakeholders committed to advancing diversity and inclusion and promoting concrete action across the ecosystem.
The Annual Meeting will gather members of the DIVERIS network and key stakeholders from across the European space and defence sectors, providing a platform to exchange practices, discuss current challenges and identify actionable solutions.
During the conference, Roberta Paoletti, Senior Officer at FGB's Social Justice Area, will represent Fondazione Brodolini in the panel discussion Addressing unconscious bias in management: building inclusive leadership across sectors, contributing insights on inclusive leadership and bias-aware organisational practices.
In addition, Liga Baltina, Head of FGB's Labour Market & Skills Research Unit, will present a poster at the DIVERIS Marketplace of Ideas, showcasing the European Defence Challenge for Students, an initiative aimed at engaging and empowering the next generation of diverse talent in the defence sector.
"As a member of the DIVERIS network since its establishment, FGB continues to contribute to advancing diversity and inclusion across the European space and defence ecosystems. We look forward to contributing to the discussion on these topics and strengthening collaboration within the DIVERIS community" said Liga Baltina.
