Strengthening aerospace and defence skills, in Brussels with Skills4ADC+

As coordinator of the Skills for Aerospace and Defence Community (Skills4ADC+) project, Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini is organising the forum Strengthening Europe's aerospace and defence skills ecosystem, which will take place in Brussels on 25 November 2026.

Skills4ADC+ is a two-year project funded under the Erasmus+ programme that aims to strengthen Europe's capacity to anticipate and respond to emerging skills needs in the aerospace and defence sectors, while supporting forward-looking and inclusive upskilling and reskilling strategies.

The event will feature keynote sessions, interactive panels and thematic breakout discussions focused on skills anticipation, regional and SME engagement, and innovative approaches to training, upskilling and reskilling.

The forum will bring together industry representatives, education and training providers, policymakers, social partners and other stakeholders to exchange experiences and discuss how Europe can build the skills base required to respond to rapid technological, industrial and labour-market change.

"At a time when the aerospace and defence industries are facing significant challenges in attracting and retaining specialised talent in fields such as engineering, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, robotics and digital technologies – the work carried out through Skills4ADC+ is particularly important. At the same time, technological transformation and changing industrial requirements are creating new occupations and skills needs" explains Liga Baltina, Head of FGB’s Labour Market & Skills Research Unit, who coordinates the project on behalf of FGB.

Skills4ADC+ seeks to contribute to a more coordinated and future-oriented European skills ecosystem by connecting industry, training providers, regions and social partners while supporting both sector competitiveness and opportunities for workers to develop and transfer their skills.
