Access to justice – A sociological study on cases of discrimination in the EU

It is a qualitative social study centring on interviews with complainants of discrimination forms, representatives of equality bodies and intermediaries (lawyers, representatives of NGOs and other professionals such as civil servants) in discrimination cases. The research took into account all grounds of discrimination coming within the scope of EU law. The study identified the gaps in legislation, policies, practices, and European and international standards relating to access to justice. The research was carried out in eight selected EU Member States: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Italy and UK.
