Gender budgeting of the Province of Catanzaro

One of the first experiences of gender budgeting within public administration in Southern Italy, the intervention was based on a well-constructed methodology and was carried out in several steps: gathering of available data at local level and set-up of a system of gender-sensitive indicators; analysis from the income and expenses points of view, and of each legislative measure of provincial budgeting; analysis of the gender impact in the care services sector (old people and children) and in the transport sector; identification of the capacities on which an analysis of budgeting from a gender perspective could be carried out; training for public officials; definition of provincial guidelines and of a dissemination plan on the entire territory, as well as beginning of handing over back to the institutional bodies of the Province (Municipalities).
