INDIW – Innovative datasets and models for improving welfare policies
The overall aim of this project was to provide a supporting toolkit to help policy-makers in their decisional process and to improve the effectiveness of public policy evaluation in the field of labour market analysis, social security programmes and retirement behaviour.
The project team developed a unique and innovative dataset by matching administrative data coming from INPS (National Institute for Social Security) administrative longitudinal archives with survey data produced by ISTAT (National Statistical Institute).
A dynamic microsimulation model for the analysis of the Italian labour market and pensions system (www.tdymm.eu), in particular as concerns the adequacy of pensions and their related distributional aspects, was developed within the project framework.
