The study aims at designing a pilot action to test Community Cooperatives as an innovative tool for the management of the old car track facilities called Motovelodromo in Turin. The Community Cooperatives are organized as a widespread social infrastructure allowing new opportunities for local development adding value to local communities especially in rural areas at risk of depopulation.

What is new about this pilot action is that it would test the Community Cooperatives in an urban area supporting a participative process involving citizens in the social and economic regeneration of a public good and fostering new job opportunities for youngsters.

The field research includes the engagement of local communities aiming at mapping stakeholders interested in the management of the building and at mapping local needs and expectations about the services that could be provided by the facilities management.
