The project analysed the reasons of structural changes in the European family. In particular, the research found a significant gap between the number of children they want and the children actually born. The gap is mainly due to the inadequacy of measures to support families. The project investigated the following aspects: support for young couples' reproductive choices; impact of individual and collective needs on the trend of fertility rates in Europe; persistent gender discrimination inside and outside the family; conciliation between job (in)stability and family choices.
