Mapping of best practices of the European Social Fund and of EU programmes and initiatives in Italy
The main output of this project was to produce a national catalogue of best practices gathering the most successful interventions carried out by ESF in the field of labour policies, training, social inclusion and equal opportunities implemented in Italy in the 2000-2006 programming period. To reach this objective, the consortium assessed and evaluated 1800 ESF-financed projects, non only at the national but also at the transnational level, such as those of the EQUAL programme.
The catalogue resulted in a pool of systematic information pointing at new avenues of local development, adaptable to different local, interregional and national contexts.
The catalogue was implemented with the intent to produce a data collection centre constantly updated, a valid support to the programming processes of the Managing Authorities contributing to the concrete transfer of methods and instruments, ideas and solutions. It was a reliable and important instrument to promote dialogue with other new European realities by sharing and comparing the programmes co-financed by ESF, thus contributing to fostering partaken governance.
