MYC - Milan Young Citizens: the involvement of young people in city’s future

MYC project is carried out within the Municipality of Milan where the crisis of youth employment hit the city and the local areas with a different impact compared with the overall situation. The issue of NEETs, the population aged 15-29 who are not employed and not involved in further education or training, calls for reflection. MYC intends to foster a new corporate culture among young people from a social innovation perspective for a strategic sustainable urban development by being an incubator of social innovation practices that will be prototypes of economically sustainable services and/or projects. 

Mixed teams of activators, NEETs and students are involved to co-generate ideas for an innovative service within the context of “FabriQ” and “BASE”. In order to achieve the main project goals, two proposals, among the best, were selected and started the incubation process.
