As European labour markets are constantly evolving, it is vital that skills provision can adapt to changing skills needs. This requires effective and responsive skill intelligence. While understanding of medium-term issues and their implications for skills forecasts is now relatively developed, there remains a need to improve monitoring in the short term.

The aim of the study is to develop and implement a regular, short-term anticipatory system (STAS).

The study includes three main work assignments (WAs):

  • WA1: Data screening and collection, exploration of methods, and identification of feasible ones;
  • WA2: Development, testing and implementation of the anticipation tool; and
  • WA3: Tool refinement, operation and transfer.

FGB will mainly contribute to WA1 and will work on identifying and proposing to Cedefop the best feasible options for developing a short-term anticipatory system on skill needs and VET demand in Europe.

FGB research team is composed of Līga Baltiņa, Giuseppe Forte, Maria Cristina Scarafile, Elton Beqiraj, and Massimiliano Tancioni.
