Workplace safety for last-mile logistics workers

The project promoted a new culture of occupational health and safety among last-mile logistics workers (riders, couriers, and cyclists), with particular attention to risks related to manual handling of loads, biomechanical overload, and road safety within the context of sustainable mobility.

By combining interdisciplinary research activities, social partner engagement, and the production of innovative multimedia content, the project fostered a culture of prevention among logistics workers through dedicated tools – including the Rider sicuro podcast, available in five languages. It also opened a dialogue with workers in the sector based on the disseminated content, involving social partners and institutions in a co-design process.

As lead partner, Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini coordinated the entire project, managed relations with institutional partners and social partners, supervised podcast production, and led the communication campaign and public dissemination events, including the final event held at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan on 17 March 2026.
