Youth4Gender – Youth thinking globally and acting locally on gender equality

The project promoted equal opportunities at local level, through awareness-raising actions targeting young people and local policy-makers. The five European contexts involved in the project were:  Gabrovo and Smolyan (Bulgaria), Rome (Italy), Prefecture of Patras (Greece) and Mancommunitat de L'Horta Sur (Spain). The following activities were implemented:

• Set-up of an information system on gender differences in order to carry out a careful study of the gender inequality phenomenon at local level;
• Comparison of local experiences, feasibility and transferability of policies (mostly at local level) in partner countries;
• Establishment of youth forums composed of young people aged 16 to 23 in each partner town.
