UK-EU relationships in the first Common ground conference

On December 5th, 2023, it will take place in London the first annual conference of the Common ground project, born with the aim of building a new relationship between the EU and the UK, which sees Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini as lead partner.

The3million Ltd, the largest grassroots organisation of EU citizens in the UK, and the UK-based think tank British Future, are also part of the project, which is funded by the Service for foreign policy instruments of the European Commission and was launched in February 2023.

The Common ground EU citizens' conference (from 09.00 am to 5.00 pm at Coin street conference centre, 108 Stamford Street, London SE1 9NH) will spotlight new research on British attitudes towards the future of the relationship between the EU and the UK.

Bringing together EU citizens, friends and allies from the UK and Europe to share knowledge and best practice, the conference will seek to inspire ideas for a positive relationship between the UK and the EU, also delving into different types of campaigning for change.

Besides workshops and panel discussions, the very core of the event will be the personal and professional stories of EU citizens, which have also inspired the photographic exhibition Stories for change hosted during the conference.

Furthermore, as part of the initiatives co-ordinated by the EU Delegation in London, the Common ground project will participate in the annual EU citizens' gathering in London, on December 6th, 2023.
