The aim of the study is to reconstruct and deepen the framework of public policies, interventions and tools that define and make the adult learning system (including both vocational training and that in response to individual needs) work – in Italy and in four European countries (France, Germany, United Kingdom-England and Spain) taken as case studies.

Starting from the analysis of the framework of the four reference countries, and from the subsequent identification of the main similarities and differences with Italy, the aim of the project is then to identify a series of work tracks, operational proposals and suggestions aimed at developing adult learning. The ultimate goal will be to stimulate related discussions, resulting into both consequent actions and decisions and in regular moments of verification of the progress of the adopted decisions.

Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini participates in and coordinates all project activities. In particular, FGB will build the country cases for France and Spain through a desk analysis, followed by 20 in-depth interviews for each country; develop the report on the strategies for adult learning implemented in Italy; administer part of the interviews to the Italian stakeholders, and contribute to the drafting of the final report.
