Out of the margins – Sharing strategies integrating women of ethnic minorities into the labour market
The aim of the proposal was to address the European Commission’s objective of attracting and retaining more people in employment, increasing the labour supply and modernising social protection systems in favour of a particularly marginalised social group, namely that of women belonging to ethnic minorities, and especially the Roma minority.
The objective of the project was to improve the learning process and the exchange of knowledge among the three project partner countries on active inclusion measures adopted in Europe in recent years in order to increase the integration of people at margin into the labour market.
The project specifically analysed the measures implemented in two of the three partner countries mainly devoted to:
- The activation of low-skilled job seekers (Bulgaria)
- The promotion of specific training opportunities for immigrants (Bulgaria)
- The lowering of tax wedges in order to foster participation rates and job creation (Italy)
- The reduction of social security contributions for both employers and employees (Bulgaria)
Specific activation measures introduced in other European countries addressed to migrants and vulnerable groups to improve their participation in the labour market were also collected and analysed to assess their transferability in the context of the three countries involved in the project.
