Sandbox is an experimental call that promotes and supports community-based social research and storytelling in marginal areas and communities, usually neglected by mainstream narratives, through fellowships and capacity building activities.

The main programme goal is to decolonise and re-imagine research as a collective and collaborative process that recognises communities’ collective intelligence, complex identities and vocations, making research output accessible and valuable for each actor involved.

The first edition of Sandbox awards the project proposals of two teams of one researcher and one storyteller each. Participants have at least two years of experience in research (either academic or non-academic) and in planning the communication and dissemination of projects inside organisations such as universities, think-and-do tanks, Thirs Sector organisations and non-profit.

The awarded projects will run from June until November 2021.
