From gender barriers to policy actions, through Living Labs
As a partner of the project Gendered Innovation Living Labs (GILL) coordinated by the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL), Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini organises the workshop Moving from Gender Barriers in Innovation and Entrepreneurship to Policy Actions: The Potential of Living Labs, which will take place in Timisoara, Romania, on Wednesday, 25 September 2024, from 2.00 PM to 3.15 PM.
The event is part of the 2024 edition of the OpenLivingLab Days (OLLD24), the annual global gathering of international Living Labs organised by ENoLL that brings together living labbers, public officials, corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, academics, and innovators from around the world.
Living Labs are collaborative environments designed to amplify societal voices, promote inclusive participation, and bridge community gaps by integrating gender and intersectionality perspectives to maximise their impact. This year's theme of OLLD, Living Labs Frontiers: Driving systemic change through Soci(et)al Engagement, for real impact, will explore how Living Labs can drive meaningful societal systemic change through active engagement and collaboration.
The session will consist of a topic debate moderated by Barbara De Micheli, Coordinator of FGB's Social Justice Area, who has been in charge of its organisation together with Silvia Sansonetti, Head of the Gender Equality Unit at Fondazione Brodolini, and in collaboration with Alberto Cerezo, Senior Project Manager at ENoLL.
By leveraging the potential of Living Labs, the workshop will spur the debate on policy recommendations addressed to stakeholders of the so-called quadruple helix, i.e., industry, government, research institutes, and the public.
"After 15 years of global discussions on the need to integrate a gender perspective into research and innovation, barriers have been extensively researched and identified, being now the time to address specific policy actions to overcome them", says Barbara De Micheli.
The workshop's speakers will be: Barbara De Micheli; Marta Martorell Camps, Director of the Digital Social Technologies Research Area, i2CAT Foundation; Andra Tanase, Head of Strategy, Transilvania IT Cluster, and Silvia Sironi, Ecosystem Lead at the United Nations World Food Program Innovation Accelerator.
