Medium-sized towns of southern Italy at Open Incet

On 15 March 2023 at Open Incet, the open social innovation centre of the city of Turin managed by the Fondazione Brodolini, took place the second meeting of the National Metro Plus and Southern Medium-sized Cities Programme 2021-2027, organised by the Territorial Cohesion Agency.

The event, which was attended by representatives from 39 medium-sized cities in Southern Italy, opened with the City of Turin's presentation of some good practices of social innovation, including Homes4All, ToNite and the Rete delle Portinerie di Comunità.

In the afternoon, the second co-design workshop took place, designed and led by the Giacomo Brodolini Foundation and the Politecnico di Milano in the framework of the project SEED - Social innovation Ecosystem Development. The workshop, attended by all representatives of the host cities, provided an opportunity to share co-design techniques and explore project ideas for social innovation.

During the workshop, the topics of active inclusion and employment promotion were discussed by involving stakeholders and sharing co-design techniques. In particular, some social innovation project proposals were explored in relation to reducing housing shortages, fighting extreme poverty and marginality, and strengthening the role of culture and sustainable tourism in social inclusion and social innovation.
