Our study on Italy’s progress in the European Education Area evaluation

The final report of the Support Study for the Interim Evaluation of the European Education Area (EEA) 2021-2030 is now available online. As part of the study, Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini curated the Italy country case.

The study was conducted on behalf of the European Commission, and covers the period from 2021 to June 2024. It supports the mid-term evaluation of the 2021-2030 strategic framework for European cooperation in education and training, offering key insights to guide the next phase of the EEA.

"The interim evaluation assesses progress towards building the European Education Area, focusing on effectiveness, efficiency, coherence, relevance, and EU added value" explains Costanza Pagnini, Head of FGB's Policy Evaluation & Analysis Unit, bringing in FGB's expertise in policy evaluation to the project.

"FGB's contribution on Italy focuses on the recognition of tertiary education diplomas and periods of study abroad within upper secondary education, analysing the national implementation of EEA objectives and providing evidence on progress made at both system and institutional level" she concludes.
