Future skill needs in the Albanian energy sector, new ETF study

The new study Future skill needs in the Albanian energy sector published by the European Training Foundation (ETF) is one of the sector studies conducted by Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini Srl SB and Erre Quadro for ETF.

The report documents changes in occupations and related skills, driven by the restructuring of the sector, policies and regulations in Albany. Particular emphasis is given to the potential new technologies that will need to be mobilised to bring about the transformation of the sector. The study provides information on how companies are adapting to those changes and are finding the skills they need on the market, and an indication of whether the supply of skills is keeping pace with technological advances in the sector.

The ultimate aim is to raise awareness about the changing skills demand, identify pointers of change and stimulate a discussion among policy makers and practitioners in the field, so that the findings can be used to adapt education and training provision.

The findings not only raise awareness, but also provide insights, especially in relation to the ability of the education and training system to respond to changing skills demand and to prepare workers for the new jobs and occupations that are likely to emerge.

The report was drafted by Riccardo Apreda, Riccardo Campolmi, and FGB researchers Liga Baltina, Chiara Fratalia, Terence Hogarth, with inputs from national expert Rodion Gjoka.
